TapeSwell Bows

As soon as I saw this bow idea from Niki Estes I knew I wanted to try it with the Holiday Stripe and Snowflake Decorative Tape from TapeSwell. Here's the link to Niki's bow... http://nikiestes.typepad.com/my_paper_creations/2010/12/another-quick-and-easy-packaging-idea.html If you check out her blog she has the link to a tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers too. The tape is currently on sale here at http://www.tapeswell.com/ As you can see from the photos above I covered a 12 x 12 piece of card stock on both sides with the tape. I then cut in into 1" strips. The loops are made from 1" x 6" strips that I hole punched and threaded with a giant brad to hold the bow together. The boxes are made from plain white cardstock. Making the sides of the box 2" high perfectly suits the striped tape pattern.
I love the tape patterns and colors. They remind me of the Rankin & Bass animated cartoon Frosty the Snowman. I've entered this in the Simon Says Stamp & Show Something From Yesteryear challenge here.... http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/2010/12/simon-says-stamp-show-something-from.html

I Love Gingerbread

I made these cute little gingerbread men from Sculpey Chocolate 053 Polymer Clay. This is the first time I've ever made anything with polymer clay. I think the gingerbread men turned out so cute! I just love gingerbread! I can hardly wait to learn so more techniques to make stuff like peppermints. I'm envisioning little red Santa hats and candy canes for next year! From one small block of $2 clay I made well over 2 dozen gingerbread men. I made a dozen to become pins. Plus another dozen for the gift tags on the gifts in a jar. Mmm chocolate chip cookies! I also used the Friendship Jar die from Papertrey Ink and Snowflake embossing folder from Stampin'Up! for the tags.
I'm linking this project to http://forfunchallenges.blogspot.com/ for Christmas theme. Also to http://bellichallenge.blogspot.com/ for using Christmas themed embellishments. And finally to http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/2010/12/simon-says-stamp-show-something-from.html for Something from Yesteryear.

As soon as I saw this reindeer die I just had to have it! It's from Quickutz. The paper came from Hobby Lobby. I used the Top Note die from Stampin' Up! and a Martha Stewart punch for the wreath. I used clear rhinestones and colored with a red Sharpie marker.

Green Christmas

I love recycling things. My card started by carefully cutting up an aluminum can and running through an embossing folder. I then sanded the sheet to take some of the blue color off the flowers for the silver of the aluminum to show. I trimmed it down to adhere to white cardstock. I trimmed a recycled gift card, rounded the edges and used a silver Sharpie marker to "soften" the edges. The button started as a plain white one that I colored with the silver Sharpie after it dried I used a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen to make the snowflake. Added some ribbon and a bow. Ta da!

{Caardvarks} Monochromatic Challenge

Seriously one day I will get better at photographing my projects! lol I made this card for a friend's birthday later this month. Hey Cheryl! Anyhow I thought I'd throw my name in the hat again for a final attempt with the {Caardvarks} challenge to make a monochromatic card. I used kraft cardstock as my base and a fun damask pattern from Pink Paislee. I stamped the Stampin' Up! sentiment in old olive ink and then heat embossed it to stand out a bit more, and added the fun ribbon. Ta da! I've had fun playing along with {Caardvarks} and sad to hear Jenyfur is ready to move on to something else. Perhaps something better soon!?! Check it out here.... http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/2010/12/our-final-challenge.html

{Caardvarks} Final Challenge

For the {Caardvarks} final challenge I made this card out of various shades of green. The polka dot paper is from Papertrey Inc. The green damask is from Pink Paislee and the tree paper from Stampin' Up! I added glossy accents to the trees. You can see some of the shine that is making the tree outline and leaves glisten. The challenge is to create a monochromatic card. Here's the link.... http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/2010/12/our-final-challenge.html

Papercraft Star Challenge 23

The Papercraft Star Challenge 23 is to create a holiday gift tag using cardstock, patterned paper stamp and or die cut (Cricut or other) ribbon or twine and gems or pearls. Check it out here...
For my tag I used the Papertrey Inc Christmas Tree die on twill that I inked up and sprayed with glimmer mist for some subtle sparkle. I decorated the tree with ribbon and gems and layered on cardstock. Stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment and cut it out to layer on my bow. Volia!

Merry Christmas

I just love this embossing folder from Stampin' Up! I think it's called Petals-A-Plenty. And oh how I love this white shimmer cardstock from Papertrey Inc. Here's another shot at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog....

Happy Birthday

I really love this Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin' Up!
http://hodgepodgeshop.blogspot.com/2010/12/challenge-5-birthday-cards.html

Wishing You Simple Pleasures

I stamped the image on shimmer card stock then colored in with Copic markers. The soft shimmer is so pretty in person!
For you consideration in the Simon Says stamp Challenge Blog "Let it Snow"

Happy Holidays Gift Card Holder

Making a gift card holder can simply made out of an A2 size envelope. After you fold one in half cut the flap down the fold line. Glue one half of the flap down inside the envelope. Then glue the other side down out side the envelope. Now you have a blank canvas to decorate for your gift card holder. I like a good 17 inches of ribbon to tie a bow to close the gift card holder shut.
I'm entering my gift card holder in the {Caardvarks} Gift Card/Money Holders Challenge sponsored by My Favorite Things. Here's the link... http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-favorite-things-gift-cardmoney.html

Embellish Magazine Holidays Color Challenge

My Time Made Easy LLC by Lauren Meader has sponsored this challenge for Embellish Magazine. The color challenge is to use red, green, pink and brown with holiday themed paper. I struggled with pink, but remembered I had The 12 Days of Snow Flakes Digital download paper from My Time Made Easy LLC. You can down load it here free.... http://mytimemadeeasy.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_2&products_id=3
Plus you can shop more more fun templates, stamps and digital downloads.
I stamped the gingerbread house, colored it and used Sakura Glaze pens to create the shine on the candy canes. Aren't the gingerbread men cute! Puff paint is so fun.

Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree

This card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire. I saw a video she made recently in a series called Holiday Thinking Inking for Two Peas in a Bucket. I think it's a perfect fit for the Papercraft Star Challenge 22. Make a Holiday card or tag that features a Christmas tree or Ornament using a die cut, ribbon, handmade embellishment and bling. So voila! I handmade my Christmas tree using her twisted canvas technique and added pearls to it. The tree trunk is brown velvet ribbon and I scrunched up burgundy ribbon for the tree skirt. Used a spellbinders die for the sentiment "Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree". I used silver sparkle glue to highlight the decorative edge of the card. It opens to the green snowflake paper. finally I sprayed the entire card with a glimmer mist. A suttle touch so beautiful in person! Check out the challenge here... http://papercraftstar.blogspot.com/2010/11/challenge-22-is-open.html

Wine Cork Wreath

I made this wine cork wreath for my kitchen years ago. After it was done I ended up making several more as gifts. A good 99% of the corks are from my local winery Beachaven Winery. Golden Rose and Cumberland White are 2 of my favorites.

Embellish Magazine Challenge

It's been such a long time since I had made a gift bag and matching card. The Embellish magazine challenge was to make a bag using the color scheme of black, dark pink, light pink and gray. Isn't the damask pattern on the gray fabulous! It is from Tapeswell, it's like a wide clear packing tape with the black damask pattern. Here's the link for the challenge....http://embellishmagazine.com/blog/2010/11/embellish-bags-color-challenge-sponsored-by-its-in-the-bag/

A merry little Christmas to you

I've been trying to decide what cards I'll be mass producing this year for Christmas. I just love making Christmas cards. I'll probably make another dozen before deciding on something. The papers in the card have such a warm rustic feel.
So here's to another shot at the {Caardvarks} Holiday Die Cuts Challenge....

Mayflower Place Card

I got the template for these cute ships from here....
So I thought it would be a perfect fit for The Cuttlebug Spot challenge at the diner table. I used the woodgrain embossing plate from Papertrey Inc on the ship. You can find it here. The swirls embossing folder was used for the sails to create "wind" on them.

For You

I think the little jewelry ornaments are so neat. The one on my card is a 1x1 square.

Mon Amie

My card was created by using an embossing folder then adding layers and layers of color. I then sprayed iridescent gold glimmer mist over the card. I cut slits in the card to tuck the leaf ribbon behind the roses.

A Teacher's Prayer

The first and second image is of the front of my Teacher's Prayer poem card. The third image is the inside of the cards. The author is unknown. I needed a card for two different teachers and thought I'd post them for the {caardvarks} challenge to decorate both the outside and inside of a card. Here's the link for the current challenge....

A home is made of love & dreams

I absolutely love fall. I love the warm earthy colors and sweaters. I am glad to finally see the trees changing colors and the weather getting cooler here in Tennessee!

{Caardvarks} Sensantional Stickers Challenge Part 2

Ok I finally tried a Halloween card for the {Caardvarks} Sensational Stickers Challenge to scraplift from another designer. Again I chose Eva's Halloween card because it is so darn cute! If you look closely you can see I used black crepe paper to make the cape. Isn't the bear cute!
Here's the link ...
The bear is retired called Big Beary. I think it is just too precious. A huge thanks goes out to Phyllis Long aka SparklePlenty1000 at SplitcoastStampers. I would have to say she "introduced" me to the bear stamp ;) You can see why I feel in love with the stamp here...

The Cuttlebug Spot Halloween Treats Challenge

The tiny treat bags were made to hold spooky tattoos and skull rings that I will give to kids at my son's daycare this year.
